Eaton's premium performance results from a superior design. Carbon fiction discs, located behind each side gear, are pre-loaded with a central spring assembly. The spring force, combined with the pinion/side gear reaction forces, increases the clamp load on the carbon discs as input torque increases. This balanced design ensures that the bias torque of the differential is proportional to the input torque for smoother engagement.
Gear strength is crucial to high performance racing and off-road applications. Eaton engineers turned to state-of-the-art computer design tools to develop robust gears that can stand up to a lifetime of punishment. Eaton precision-forged gears are designed to mesh perfectly, providing improved strength and durability over the standard cut gear.
The Posi performance differentials feature a patented carbon friction material designed to endure the hostile extremes of Formula One racing brakes and clutches. RAM Powergrip clutches are a heavy duty upgrade for street use and an option for increased service life in commercial applications. These sets feature composite organic, metallic, and kevlar friction materials matched for the specific application to allow retention of OEM pressure plates where necessary and compatibility with OEM release systems. Each set includes an OEM or better pressure plate, Powergrip disc, release bearing, and alignment tool.
