Hydraulic lifters (standard "flat face" or hydraulic roller) offer nearly maintenance-free, quiet operation for tens of thousands of miles. Crane Cams' performance-design, anti pump-up lifters, have advanced internal oil metering and "bleed-down" rates that allow them to add several hundred peak rpm over stock type or replacement lifters. Hydraulic lifters must always be used on hydraulic-lifter cams. Mechanical lifters (also called "solids") should never be used on a hydraulic cam. This will result in a rapid cam, lifter and valve train wear and failure. For the same reasons, hydraulic lifters should never be used on a mechanical cam. When increased power and rpm is required a roller cam (hydraulic roller or mechanical roller) is always the best choice. However, if budget or track rules require a flat-tappet mechanical cam Crane offers many different choices of mechanical cams and lifters well suited to your application. Mechanical lifters are actually "solid" (except those used for oil control) internally. They are also noiser than hydraulic lifters and require periodic valve lash adjustment. Crane lifters, hydraulic and mechanical, are made from the finest quality alloy steels, metallurgically designed to be compatible with cam lobes and precision machined on CNC equipment.

These High Energy hydraulic lifters from Comp Cams feature a patented constant orifice metering valve that precisely meters oil to the rocker arms. Continuous contact between the metering valve and the precisely coined bottom surface of the pushrod seat is maintained throughout the engine's rpm range, eliminating excessive oiling at high speeds. The pushrod seat is made of a special powdered metal iron alloy, and heat-treated for strength and wear resistance. The longer piston is produced with through-hardened steel that provides more bearing surface and increased lifter longevity. These lifters have a lightweight check valve disk that allows for quicker response, resulting in increased engine speed before valve float. |

These High Energy hydraulic roller lifters are for use with the newly designed hydraulic roller cam series from Comp Cams, or as a performance replacement for stock hydraulic roller lifters. You must be certain that the lifter is correct for the type of block used. |

These Comp Cams Pro Magnum hydraulic roller lifters are specifically designed to perform at higher engine speeds. When engines are equipped with a hydraulic roller camshaft, high rpm is limited by the improper position of the internal piston, as the lifter inevitably "pumps up". This improper location results in broken valves, and therefore leads to lost power or sometimes even engine failure. These lifters offer a distinct advantage over standard high-performance hydraulic lifters, especially in race applications where a hydraulic lifter must be used. |

Lunati's Micro-Trol Lifters are designed for performance applications where precise oil control is an absolute necessity. The precise oil control allows higher rpm potential. To obtain maximum performance from this lifter, the plunger is held in place by a full contact snap ring, specially designed to be an integral part of the lifter assembly...unlike wire clip locking rings that come apart at high RPM, destroying the lifter.
